Teaser Tuesday

I'm on the same book as last week but I have advanced quite a bit - about 100 pages to go so hopefully something new next week.

All you have to do to take part in Teaser Tuesday is:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Then head over to Should Be Reading and add your link to the comments.

Here's mine:

'I'm really, really sorry,' said Alice. 'But I can't do it.'

Is It Just Me...?

I've realised recently that I like to look at other people's houses. Not in a stand outside and stare at a house kind of way... that would be weird.

But going on property websites like Zoopla and looking at the photos of the interiors of big and fancy houses.

And turning my nose up at some of their decor choices. Which I know I would be able to change if it were my house (and had the money to buy such a house). Some houses make you want to drool they are so gorgeous.

I think this partly stems from a book I had as a child about a mouse who was an architect.

And the book was filled with drawings of houses he'd designed for various animals. For example he made a water side house for a frog that was mainly made up of platforms that looked like lilypads.

But anyway...

Is it just me?

Teaser Tuesday

I haven't taken part in Teaser Tuesday for a few weeks. The first week I was reading a book on my Kindle and I'm still undecided about how to pick a random couple of sentences on the Kindle. You can't just flick back and forth like you can with a paperback.

And then I figured as the book was only 150 pages long I'd be done with it by the next week... but I wasn't... nor was I done by the week after that... or after that... you get the idea.

I think the Kindle makes me believe that I have read more than I actually have. With a paperback you read 2 pages and then you turn the page. Whereas with the Kindle you read 1 page and then turn the page. So I become convinced I've read twice as much as I have (although the Kindle does calculate how long it will take you to get to the end of the current chapter).

So anyway back to Teaser Tuesday...

Here's mine:

Max had once tried to argue that his leather coat was a key piece, but as Alice pointed out, rather brutally, it was more of a meanness issue than a style one. He'd had it so long that on a pay-per-wear basis, it now owed him money.
